Volendamse Hul

The well known white, lace cap called the Volendam hul that completes the Volendam traditional costume for women. The hul in Volendam is slightly more pointed than the Hul in, for example, the traditional costumes of Katwijk, Urk or Spakenburg. The Hul is handmade and then reinforced with starch so that it retains its shape. The ‘blades’ at the front are curved, so that it looks even more chic.
