Striped apron 

The striped apron, is worn instead of the black apron; also called boezel. Because it’s made of cotton, it was a lot cheaper for people to buy, which is why the apron was changed, it was also easier to wash. The costume that is best known today is the Traditional Dutch Clothing with the striped apron. The apron makes the whole of the costume look a bit fresher and happier.
